The Malaysian Army has suspended all hand-grenade training exercises across the country following a blast incident during a Kedah training session. The Defence Minister announced the move as investigators rapidly pursue the circumstances of the accident.

The Malaysian Army has suspended all hand grenade training nationwide following a fatal blast at Hobart Camp in Kedah that killed two personnel. Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin says the suspension remains until a comprehensive investigation concludes.
Two Malaysian Army personnel were killed in a grenade-throwing training accident at Hobart Camp in Kedah on June 16. The victims were identified as Corporal Norazmi Abu Bakar and Private Siti Khadijah Sungip. A full investigation has been ordered.
Private Siti Khadijah Sungip, 24, of the Royal Engineer Regiment, was laid to rest in Kluang following her death in a training accident at Hobart Camp, Gurun, Kedah. A second soldier also died in the incident.
